Rigley has been part of Schroeder’s Den for most of his life, and in many ways, it has shaped who he is. Our golden boy first padded into puppy play in February 2017, and by 2019, Rigley had officially become a twice‑a‑week regular—Tuesdays and Thursdays are his Schroeder’s days. He wakes up excited for them, prancing at drop‑off like he’s arriving at his favorite place in the world. And at pickup, he greets his ‘pawrents’ with the same enthusiasm, as if he’s returning from a grand adventure.Over the years, he’s made many friends, but none quite like Phoenix the Doberman. It’s an unlikely pairing—our tenderhearted golden and the sleek, confident Doberman— their friendship is proof that the right environment brings out the best in every dog. We are so thankful for Meadow, Kara, and the whole Schroeder’s crew. They don’t just watch our dogs—they understand them, celebrate them, and give them a place to belong. Rigley is who he is today because of the love they’ve poured into him.

There are millions of people all over the world who love and try to understand their beloved pups, but what I have found, at Schroeder’s Den, the owner, Meadow, not only loves and understands all of our pups, but she also is able to “speak dog”. Meadow has this amazing gift to see and feel what our dogs are trying to say at any given moment, which is beyond most dog owners’ awareness.  Meadow is the Defender for her own pups, her Daycare pups, and every other dog that crosses her path, which is why reading and learning from her new book is beyond exciting for me – “There is so much to learn”!   I am extremely thankful to have found Meadow’s special place, “Schroeder’s Den”, where I know my pup is loved, cared for and protected the entire time my pup is there.

It is because of Meadow and her fluency of Dog that my pup, Wesley, learned how to navigate the canine world in a socially acceptable manner. For 10 years, through her daycare environment, Meadow has provided my dog, who rarely colors within the lines, with the love, discipline and structure needed to be a successful, well adjusted pup and human buddy.

Oscar golden retriever, Oscar's social skills have blossomed since attending Schroeder’s Den. Prior to attending daycare Oscar was a typical golden retriever: happy, excited, and goofy; however, he struggled with his approach to other dogs. Often times he was incredibly submissive and cautious, and other times he would come in way too hot! Since being at Schroeder's he is more confident and calm. He has so many friends! We are lucky to be a part of the Schroeder's family.

My husband and I got our first dog as empty nesters, we had other dogs while our sons were growing up and always loved dogs, but we did some research and settled on a Boykin Spaniel. Boykins were supposed to be smart, gentle loved water and they loved being with their people.  We wanted him to be trained so we found a dog trainer that came to the house and our spaniel did great and learned quickly. Our trainer recommended we take our spaniel, while he was a puppy, to daycare to learn how to socialize and to learn how to behave around other dogs and what was accepted behavior in the dog world. We met Meadow at Schroeder’s Den and she was so positive and put our mind at ease …because we were handing our puppy over to her.   Meadow is like the dog whisperer!  She and her staff have been amazing to work with and our spaniel Henry is always so excited t go into daycare!! I hope that Meadow knows how much we have appreciated having her in our lives and Henry’s life.  Henry is our only child now and we hope we have many years together!  We know there are a lot of people behind the doors at Schroeder’s that make the place special but thanks to Kara and Meadow!!
